Abstract

In this study, the life-cycle costs of maintaining office building elevators over a 26-28 year period was empirically examined and analyzed. The life-cycle costs of the two elevator maintenance methods - the full maintenance (FM) method and the parts, oil, and grease (POG) method - were compared. From the point of view of building owners, this study is one indicator that helps to reduce life-cycle costs and extend building longevity.
