Abstract

Acoustic spectromicroscopy is used for the nondestructive evaluation of ceramic-coated steel. This method enables the study of the actual multilayered elastic structure by its corresponding acoustic structure to predict the elastic properties from the measured dispersion curves, and to analyze the residual stress distribution in the coating.
