Abstract

This paper describes the design of a new hydraulic control system using a magnetic fluid as the working fluid. Firstly, the relationship between the magnetic force and deflection angle of a free jet of magnetic fluid was examined. The theoretical equation of the deflection angle of a free jet of the magnetic fluid was derived. The experimental results agreed well with the theoretical values and showed that the frequency response of a deflection angle was stabilized by increasing the Reynolds number of the fluid.
