Abstract

This work-in-progress paper elucidates the multiple software platforms from the view of communication studies: the learning management system of a classroom-based exercise which turned into an e-learning course of video production. During online-only classes under the Covid-19 crisis, the students were asked to submit a video of 2-5 min on a theme. The use of virtual avatars such as FaceRig was more acceptable than showing students a video of their own faces and private rooms. The use of YouTube, Comment Screen, and Spatial Chat was effective to communicate during the online classes.
