Abstract

The objective of this research is to reduce the burden on medical staff related to the outer packaging and wrappings of medicine. Currently, generic medicines are being sold and there are multiple outer packaging kinds even for the identical medicine. For such outer packaging, various sizes and displays are adopted. The reasons why a large number of outer packaging exists among medicine are not only the variety of dosage forms and amounts but also many manufacturers and distributors of generic products. However, no research has compared the forms and the positions of the information display of the outer packaging of identical medicine. Therefore, we constructed a database of outer packaging that contains generic products of the same medicine and analyzed them by focusing on size and display. This paper describes the research results on its target medicine: Amlodipine Tablet 5 mg.
