Abstract

In Japan, the ongoing reduction of the labor force has made it difficult to ensure the quality of care for older people. To solve this problem, we are proposing a communication robot system to monitor older people who live alone. The robot system aims to reduce the burden of care staff and to maintain older people's cognitive functions and their social relationships. This paper describes the details of our communication and monitoring robot system, including its functions and the use of natural conversation.
