Abstract

With a view to creating a dynamic simulation environment for solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC) that will make the study of SOFC control algorithms more efficient, the authors have developed a function block based on an SOFC multi-stage model. This multi-stage model is a physical model based on a modulestructure. It not only covers the dynamic characteristics of the dependency of power generation on load fluctuations, but also enables estimations to be made of the module's inner temperature distribution. The function block was designed using the object-oriented method, allowing arbitrarily changing module structures or extending physical models to be used. This function block is compatible with MATLAB/Simulink, and will help researchers study the device control in an efficient manner.
