Abstract

A one-wavelength bent dipole antenna with asymmetric feeding is analysed in order to show the effects of the arm bend. The radiation characteristics, including the input impedance, radiation pattern, and power gain, are presented as a function of the bending angle of the antenna arm. It is found both numerically and experimentally that a power gain close to 5·0 dB is obtained over a range of the bending angles of 90 to 120 degrees.
