Abstract

This paper presents a preliminary study of torsional interaction between turbine-generator system and inverter based distributed generation. Small-signal stability based on eigenvalue analysis is used to observe this condition. The multimass turbine model is included in the overall distributed generation system model. Two case studies are demonstrated to observe the torsional interaction in the distributed generation system. It can be shown that under stand-alone operation, unstable oscillatory modes may occur and highly influenced by the operating points of the system.
