Abstract

Spread of medical use RFID tag system has been started. High performance UHF band passive tag is developed by authors. Over 10m long distance identification can be realized by new tag system. The new tag is small in size. Its weight is 2g. The tag can be attached to night clothes since it is flexible as a rubber. Patient can be tracked at ward by new tag system. Especially, It is effective to detect patient who is approaching to dangerous area. In hospital, falling accidents happen at emergency staircase or a sort of terrace in midnight. It is prevented by new RFID tag system. In this study, avail ability of the tag system at ward was evaluated to measure its identification characteristics by experiments in hospital.
