Abstract

In order to change the refractive index of polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS), TiO2 nanoparticles were added to obtain a TiO2/PDMS composite. The refractive index of the PDMS composite increased by up to 0.008 by adding 1.0 wt% TiO2 nanoparticles to PDMS. By 1.0-MeV proton beam irradiation, the TiO2/PDMS composite shows increased refractive index up to by 0.012 for 1.0 wt% TiO2/PDMS composite with fluence of 100 nC/mm2.
