Abstract
The resistive transitions in magnetic fields, the voltage-current characteristics and magnetization for several (Nd0.33Eu0.33Gd0.33)Ba2Cu3Oy (NEG) samples with varying degrees of second-phase additions are reported. The vortex viscosity increases remarkably with the addition of the second phase, promoting the vortex entanglement in the liquid phase. Results suggest that the viscosity of the vortex liquid state increases due to the spatial variation of Tc and with the addition of the second phase with Pt.
