Abstract

A high resolution radio frequency technique was used to measure the temperature dependence of the London penetration depth in both single crystal and polycrystalline MgB2. An exponential temperature dependence was obtained at low temperature, which indicated s-wave pairing. A small energy gap value was obtained and the pairing interaction of the compound was found to be phononic.
