Abstract
Microfabrication of photonic crystal (PhC) structures in silica glass and photopolymerizing resins using femtosecond lasers was presented. The structural and photonic characteristics of microfabricated photonic crystal structures were also investigated. The PhC structures fabricated in silica glass and resins showed high structural quality and revealed moderate photonic pseudogaps. It was observed that using materials with higher refractive index, full bandgaps can be achieved.
