Abstract
Magnetized high-Tc superconducting discs and rings offer the opportunity to produce much stronger magnetic fields than conventional permanent magnets. In this study single-domain (Nd, Eu, Gd)-Ba-Cu-O bulk samples have been fabricated with various NEG-211 contents. The maximum trapped fields of melt grown blocks were measured as a function of external field and compared with the Jc-B properties of small specimens. Both measurements showed a similar field dependency, which implies that the same pinning mechanism is active even in large melt-grown blocks.
