Abstract

The authors have already proposed a method for imaging the static magnetic field distribution leaking from magnetic devices along any plane using the Computed Tomography (CT) technique. An image of the magnetic field is reconstructed from projection data provided by the voltage induced in the sensors of a line conductor and a rectangular coil moving in the plane of observation. In this paper, a new method of high speed data collection for imaging the magnetic field is proposed. A high speed data collection system, which is developed for demonstrating the new method, is also described. In the new method, rotational scanning of the sensors is employed for collecting the projections so that the data acquisition time can be reduced, while linear scanning was used in our previous experiment. To demonstrate the performance of the system, the reconstructed images of the magnetic field distributions made by some permanent magnets are shown.
