Abstract

Because of its high spatial resolution and ability to create high-resolution environmental maps that radar can't, the use of LiDAR for highly automated driving has been resurrected. This paper shows how LiDAR has been treated so far, and introduce the principle of LiDAR and the possibility of solving latency problems that were inferior to radar in the future.
