Abstract

In low-inductance motors, it is difficult to suppress the current distortion due to dead time by the conventional dead-time compensation control using the polarity of the current because the current ripple is severe. The current distortion is a cause of motor vibration and noise. Therefore, a new dead-time compensation control method suitable for low-inductance motors is to be developed. Herein, a new linear dead-time compensation control method using voltage command information is proposed. The effectiveness of the proposed method is verified through experiments.
