Liner and nonlinear elastic analysis of cracked plate: Application of a penalty function and superposition method

Abstract

Cracked plates of power hardening material under plane strain and incompressibility conditions are investigated in this work by using a penalty function and superposition method. The present numerical method is found to be quite efficient for the relevant problems if the hardening exponent of material is not so large.
