N2 - Multiphase ring coupled oscillators are used as time measuring components of time digital converters (TDCs). The multi-phase ring coupled oscillator proposed for TDC mainly consists of an even number stage differential inverter ring oscillator. Furthermore, in order to improve the time resolution, a sub-oscillator is added to raise the oscillation frequency. It also describes the start-up sequence. The proposed circuit is verified by CADENCE hspiceD simulation. The simulation model used is a 0.18um 1-poly 5-metal CMOS transistor model.
