Abstract

This paper proposes an integrated satellite digital video (ISDV) system for business video communications which realizes multi-point to multipoint dynamic channel assignment, simultaneous plural video signals transmission by one equipment and efficient use of the transponder transmission power. An offset QPSK modulation scheme with a high-coding-gain and -rate forward error correction scheme obtains compact spectrum characteristics and high interference-resistant characteristics in non-linear satellite channels. Moreover, for backward voice channel transmission from video signal receive only terminals, a superposed SSMA voice signal transmission scheme over a TDMA video signal through one transponder which employs a co-channel interference cancellation technique is newly proposed.
