Abstract

It is known that the levitation of bulk superconductors could successfully be controlled using a Bi2223 superconducting electromagnet. In the previous study, we directly measured the levitation force and magnetic field on the surface of bulk superconductors levitated by this electromagnet. And the shielding current distribution was estimated from levitation force. But magnetic field was not in agreement with its simulation from this shielding current distribution. In the present study, we improved the formulas, and the shielding current distribution was estimated from trapped-field distribution. Experimental results of levitation force and magnetic field by the shielding current were compared with simulation from this shielding current distribution.
