Abstract

This paper proposes an estimating method of both the operating temperature and flux density of the magnet, for permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) under the load condition. The method is based on the combination of motor differential equations, thermal equivalent circuit and magnetic equivalent circuit. In this paper, the effectiveness of the proposed method is verified by comparing calculated result with the finite element analysis (FEA). Also, the effectiveness is confirmed by experimental result.
