Abstract
In this research, operation of a micro grid, which is locally operated with a few generators to supply the local load but usually interconnected to a neighbouring grid, is discussed regarding wide-spread use of dispersed power sources. It is assumed that fluctuation by output of wind generators is stabilized by control of gas-turbine and battery units, and stabilization of power quality in micro grid by increasing battery unit's installation is evaluated. Especially, dynamic characteristics of the gas-turbine are very important since it occupies major performance of power quality in the local network system. Short-term power storage devices like as lead-acid battery and EDLC (Electric Double Layer Capacitor) is also prospective function for improvement of power supply liability. This research study is carried out by MATLAB/Simulink model, which offers power supply and demand, generators' outputs, system frequency, and tie-line power flow. Discussion of power dispatch command is also importance factor as (1) using tie-line power flow (2) frequency deviation (3) particular generator's output. With these discussions, required capacity of storage devices to realize the newly reconstructed energy society is evaluated.
