N2 - The well characterized surfaces of Ba1-xKxBiO3-δ and BaPbxBi1-xO3-δ are investigated by x-ray and ultraviolet photoelectron spectroscopies (XPS and UPS). The clear Fermi edge is found for the fractured surfaces of Ba0.5K0.5BiO3-δ and BaPb0.75BiO0.25O3-δ using XPS and He l UPS. The valence band shift toward the Fermi level (EF) by about 0.4 eV with doping K and Pb is observed. The results are compared with the band calculation.
