Abstract

Repeated bulk mechanical alloying is proposed to yield a billet of functional metallic alloys with nano-structured system. Owing to plastic deformation and flow with fractures in the cyclic loading for bulk mechanical alloying, refining and alloying processes take place with increase of cyclic loading. Both Pb-Al and Cu-Co systems are employed not only to make experimental demonstration of validity and effectiveness of our developed mechanical alloying but also to investigate features of refining and alloying processes in this bulk mechanical alloying.
