Abstract

The authors demonstrate long-range coherent optical frequency domain reflectometry (C-OFDR) with an auxiliary feedback-control circuit to linearise frequency sweep. They successfully suppress the sweep nonlinearity. and achieve spatial resolutions of 14cm and 50m, respectively, at the far ends of 1 and 30km optical fibres.
