Abstract
We have studied the subgrain structures in large single-grain REBa2Cu3Oy (RE = Y, Nd, Sm) bulk superconductors with polarized optical microscopic observations and pole-figure measurements combined with X-ray micro diffraction system. We have found that misorientation angles of the subgrains were almost comparable with those previously reported on similar melt-processed materials. We will also discuss the possible mechanism of subgrain formation.
