Abstract
Optical power transfer due to four-wave mixing (FWM) in repeatedly loss compensated systems is studied. This optical power transfer limits long-haul wavelength division multiplexing systems which employ the unequally spaced channel allocation technique. It is confirmed that the filtering out of conjugate lights can effectively suppress the optical power transfer.
