Abstract

We have synthesized and studied a series of high-Tc superconductors (HTSC) HgBa2Cu1-xZnxO4+δ (x = 0, 0.01, 0.02 and 0.03) from underdoping to overdoping state. Lattice parameter a increased with increasing nominal composition of Zn (x), similar to Zn-substituted (La, Sr)2CuO4 and YBa2Cu3O6+δ, indicating a replacement of Zn for Cu. As x increased, Tc determined by susceptibility and resistivity decreased for all doping levels.
