Abstract

CeZn1-xCux for x≤0.6 have a cubic CsCl-type structure at ambient condition and exhibits structural phase transitions accompanied with magnetic ordering at low temperature. This time we carried out specific heat capacity measurements on single crystals of CeZn1-xCux for x = 0.2, 0.4 and 0.6. It was found that the ground level of 4f configuration of Ce was changed from quartet for x = 0.2 to doublet for x = 0.6 by Cu substitutions.
