Abstract

The aqueous solutions of polyrotaxanes composed of polyethylene glycol and methylated α-CDs were investigated by DSC, X-ray diffraction (XRD), and Theological measurements. With increasing temperature, these aqueous solutions show sol to gel transition since hydrophobic interaction among methylated CDs. XRD patterns for MePR solution in gel state exhibits several reflections, suggesting that cross-links in MePR hydrogel are formed from crystal structures of CDs.
