N2 - Although digital watermarking can help protect copyright of image media, merely embedding one image within another does not ensure authenticity. To address this deficiency, we propose a two-stage watermarking system (TSWMS) that requires registration of the image medium to a trusted third party (TTP). Whereas conventional TTP exposes authentication clues to all actors, including attackers. TSWMS keeps clues related to registered media in the owner. In this paper, we describe the techniques used in TSWMS and how they help to bolster copyright protection.
