Abstract

VSmart is a research project to construct a virtual stock market which any pre-registered agent can participate in via networks. The aim of the project is to provide a forum where many agents of both computer programs and human traders participate in the auction and compete in the market, and to provide a forum where research on market structure analysis is carried out. In this paper, we introduce the basic concept of VSmart project and describe its importance and research possibilities in the context of computer science and artificial intelligence, as well as a new research objective of market structure analysis.
