N2 - We have successfully synthesized (Hg,Tl) 2Ba2Ca(n-1)CunOy (n=1-5) and (Hg,Tl)2Ba2(Y,Ca)1Cu2Oy cuprate superconductors which belong to a new homologous series with an Hg-based bilayer reservoir block. The Hg-based bilayer block is found to be stabilized by substituting 30-60% Tl for the Hg-site. The variation of their superconductivity with the doping state as well as n is investigated by post-annealing them and substituing Y for Ca.
