Koto-ku of Tokyo in Japan has many canals. Toyosu canal where a lot of boats pass is one of important traffic routes because it connects Tokyo bay to Sumida River. Loud sounds are generated by some boats like as tugboats or freighters in this narrow canal which has around 80 m width. We measured the sound of boats of 126 hours. This result of the sound of boats in this canal shows histogram of maximum value of A-weighted sound pressure level. This result shows that the maximum value is L Amax=85.1 dB, and it shows that the highest incidence is around L Amax=70 dB. The maximum value of each 10ms by the sound level meter was measured. Ten or more boats per an hour were passing in the morning and evening. Several boats were passing at early morning and midnight. Low frequency sound (50 - 200 Hz) had been generated for several minutes. Because the area of Toyosu canal is quiet in high rise apartment buildings, it was thought that the sound of boats influence residents.
