抄録

Alumina wires and plates sheathed by metals were fabricated from presintered billets by a novel cold-working and annealing process, the controlled-fracture forming process. Because of the fracture and rearrangement of particles, particle refining and elimination of flaws can be performed. The grains refined during coldworking never grew exaggeratedly and the flaws eliminated are never introduced again during resintering when a high reduction in area or in thickness is effected.
