N2 - Slope-Assisted (SA-) Brillouin optical correlation-domain reflectometry (BOCDR) is known as a single-end-Access distributed Brillouin sensing technique with high spatial resolution, high-speed operation, and cost efficiency. Using SA-BOCDR, we have already demonstrated the detection of a 100-mm-long heated section along a plastic optical fiber (POF). In the meantime, a so-called "beyond-nominal-resolution" effect of SA-BOCDR has been recently discovered, but its details have not been clarified yet. In this work, we experimentally investigate this effect, and using this effect we demonstrate the detection of a 5-mm-long heated section along a POF in a distributed manner.
