N2 - Annealing effects on the lattice parameters, a and c, and superconducting critical temperatures, Tc, of the Hg-Ba-Ca-Cu-O superconductors were investigated. Strong correlations were found in the Tc vs. a and c relationships for the Hg-1201 phase. This implies that a Hg-1201 sample in either 'under-doped' or 'over-doped' state can be prepared. For the Hg-1212 and 1223 phases, no strong correlations were seen in the Tc vs. a and c relationships. All the Hg-1223 samples presently prepared seemed to be in 'underdoped' states, because annealing treatments in an oxygen gas enhanced their Tc's and also applied pressures greatly increased Tc's.
