抄録
Plasma nitridation is applied to construct the surface materials design adaptive to a steel automotive part instead of the gas-nitridation, the CrN coating or other methods. Wear mechanism of plasma-nitrided steels is discussed to obtain the optimum hardness profile for higher scuffing load without fragmentation. Optimum process conditions are suggested to utilize the plasma nitrding for surface modification of steel parts as an alternative method for gas-nitriding and CrN coating.
