抄録

The iodocarbocyclization of4-pentenylmalonate derivatives1 proceeded with moderate to high enantiomeric excesses (up to 85 %ee) by treating1 with I₂ and CuO in the presence of the chiral titanium alkoxide2. The present reaction should serve as a new method for enantioselective construction of functionalized cyclopentane derivatives.
