N2 - At present in Japan, we are looking into the proper management of the large amount of disaster waste generated by the Great East Japan Earthquake, which occurred on March 11, 2011. Under the present circumstances, the waste goes from the disaster area to first and second temporary storage sheds; however, we don' t dispose of much of the waste, so we must propose a policy for the disposal of the waste to aid the rapid recovery of the area. In this study, we quantify the environmental impact caused by the disposal of tsunami debris generated by the Great East Japan Earthquake and add a time scale; in addition, we examine the appropriate disposal flow from the standpoints of environmental economy and time scale. As a result, we will show the importance of advocating broad-based disposal and recycling of waste in regards to environmental economy and time scale.
