Energy consumption and health hazards in a model house were investigated using a heat load simulation tool in this research. The simulation tool were capable to show that annual heat load, energy consumption for HVAC, and room air temperatures of every five minutes in the house. It was confirmed that the higher thermal insulation could realize the lower health hazards and energy consumption for heating. In some cases, where thermal insulation was added to existing houses, air temperatures in rooms without heating were not high enough. Effective heating methods could improve health hazards level in rooms only with a little additional energy.
