It is now possible to experimentally determine a constitutive equation that describes stresses and strain rates relation and to make use of analytical techniques based on the approximation to porous bodies. However, there is not one constitutive equation able to cover all states of granular materials. Process conditions strongly depend on the particle size distribution of a granular material, and on the mean size and properties of a binder. In this case, the granular modeling technique becomes indispensable. In forming of granular magnetic materials, it becomes necessary to consider the interaction between the granular material and a magnetic field. This work presents a discussion of the granular modeling technique applied to the powder forming process. The results of some past studies are discussed. (from Author)
