Ultrasonic tomography is used widely in medicine as a means to observe the internal state of the body in a simple and safe way. The device transmits an ultrasonic pulse into the body and displays the intensity of the reflected signal. This paper proposes method to realize a tomography with a high resolution, estimating the reflection coefficient and the attenuation constant from the reflected wave by applying an adaptive filter based on the reflection and transmission characteristics of the tissue. The method is applied to the simulated reflection wave, and the effect of the noise is discussed. Finally, the tomography obtained from the reflected wave from pig muscle is compared with the image by the traditional method, indicating the usefulness of the proposed method.
