Idiomorphic and one-dimensional (1-D) Ca5F(PO4) 3 (fluorapatite, FAp) crystals were successfully, directly, and densely grown on silicon and poly(ethylene terephthalate) (PET) substrates via an atmospheric pressure plasma-assisted flux coating (APP-FC) method. To achieve a low-temperature crystal growth, a KNO3-LiNO3 mixture was chosen as the flux.
