N2 - This paper shows the inverter carrier frequency effects to the vibration on a permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) by measurements and simulations. A coupling analysis between a circuit simulator and an FEA is used to analyze the flux density which the carrier harmonics are included in the air gap. The vibration analysis is carried out by using that flux density in the air gap, the vibration around the carrier frequency can be analyzed. Adding that, the experiment which is both the tracking analysis and the mode analysis is carried out to confirm the analysis results. As a result, the vibration frequency and also vibration mode around the carrier frequency are confirmed and these results can be used for the low vibration motor design.
