Laser oscillation phenomena in dye-doped microspheres of some organic polymers were investigated. In case of poly(cyclohexylmethylsilane) (PCHMSi) microspheres, a spectral shift in lasing wavelengths was observed with increasing pumping power. The shift was explained in terms of optical Kerr effect (OKE) which come from the lasing light. The effective electric field which induced the OKE was estimated; the value was larger than that of pumping laser light. This result indicates that the effective electric field of light was efficiently amplified inside the microspheres.
