N2 - We synthesize terpyridine(Tpy)-terminated thermosensitive poly(ethyl glycidyl ether)-block-poly(ethylene oxide) by ring-opening anionic polymerization, followed by modification of Tpy terminal group. Coordination reaction of one Ru2+ and two Tpy-terminated copolymers yields metal complex-thermosensitive polyether hybrids. The cloud point (Tc) of thermosensitive block is revealed to be around 20 °C by dye solubilization method with 1,6-diphenyl-1,3,5-hexatriene. The redox response of Ru(Tpy-) 23+/2+ appears at +960 mV vs. Ag|AgCI|saturated NaCI at 10 °C. Temperatures above 20-25 °°C, however, a coil-globule transition of the PEGE block brings about the positive shift in the redox potential and saturation of the oxidation current for the Ru(Tpy-) 23+/2+ unit.
