N2 - Kerr rotation angle of X/Co and X/Fe (X = Pt,Pd) multilayers has been calculated from first-principles within the local-spin-density approximation. In the case of Pt/Co, our results are in qualitative agreement with experiments. We have found that the Kerr rotation angles of these materials depend on the species of non-magnetic metals.
